Samoyed Cafe Seoul | Hongdae
If you're a dog lover and visiting Seoul, then Winter Village in Hongdae is a must-visit destination. This charming Korean cafe is home to several adorable Samoyed dogs that roam around the premises, greeting visitors and bringing a smile to their faces. Winter Village has become a sensation on social media, with Instagram influencers and dog lovers sharing their experiences and photos of the adorable dogs.
Winter's Village Samoyed Cafe is located in the trendy neighbourhood of Hongdae, which is known for its vibrant nightlife, street performances, and art scene. The address is 53-33, Wausan-ro 29-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The cafe is easily accessible by subway, with the nearest station being Sangsu Station (Line 6). There is an entry fee that covers a locker and snacks for the dogs. You will get a bracelet that serves as your ticket entrance and you will be asked to return it when you leave.
You will be first led to a first-floor room where you can take pictures with the dogs. If you are travelling alone don't worry, friendly staff will take pictures for you!
You can then make your way to the second floor where you can admire and interact with the dogs. It's important to note that while the dogs are friendly and playful, visitors should respect their boundaries and not disturb them while they're sleeping or eating.
This cafe was on my to-do list and it did not disappoint. I visited it on Saturday at the opening time and it was not too busy. Handlers take good care of the dogs and are making sure that the visitors are not overwhelming them by having a rotating schedule in place. You can also aks for more snacks if you run out. (Spoiler alert: the dogs will only interact with you if they get a snack out of it.)
